Short version: RiverKit is a technology in development, not an approved medical device and not for sale. Everything on this site is information about our work, not medical advice and not an offer.

  1. 01These terms

These terms govern your use of this website. If you use the site, they apply. If you do not accept them, please do not use it.

The site is operated by RiverPlus Biotech, Douala, Cameroon.

  2. 02RiverKit is in development

This is the most important thing on this page.

RiverKit is a technology under development. It has completed proof-of-concept and the underlying science is published, but it is not a cleared, approved or registered medical device in any jurisdiction, it is not for sale, and it must not be used to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent disease or to make any clinical decision about any person.

Nothing on this site is an offer to sell RiverKit, a representation that it will become available, or a guarantee of any performance characteristic. Timelines, targets and prices described here are intentions, not commitments.

  3. 03No medical advice

This site describes our research and our company. It is not medical advice and it is not a substitute for it. If you have a health concern, including a possible onchocerciasis infection, speak to a qualified health professional.

  4. 04Accuracy

We describe work in progress and we keep this site current to the best of our ability, but research moves and pages can fall behind it. We give no warranty that everything here is complete, current or free of error, and we may change any of it without notice.

Where we cite published work, the publication itself is the authority — not our summary of it.

  5. 05Intellectual property

The content of this site — text, images, illustrations, the RiverPlus Biotech name and marks, and the design — belongs to us or is used with permission. Partner and funder logos belong to those organisations and appear with their permission.

You may read, quote and link to this site, and journalists and researchers are welcome to do so with attribution. You may not reproduce it wholesale, present it as your own, or use our name or marks in a way that suggests an endorsement or a partnership that does not exist.

Nothing here grants any licence to the underlying technology or intellectual property.

  6. 06What you send us

Please do not send confidential or sensitive material through this website. Unless we have signed a confidentiality agreement with you, anything you send through the contact form or by email is not treated as confidential and no confidential relationship is created by sending it.

Do not send us personal health information about yourself or anyone else. We are not a clinical service and we cannot act on it.

By sending us an idea, a proposal or a suggestion, you accept that we may already be working on something similar and that we are under no obligation in respect of it. This does not apply to anything covered by an agreement between us.

  7. 07Acceptable use

Use the site lawfully. Do not attempt to break, overload, probe or gain unauthorised access to it or to anything connected to it, and do not use the contact form to send bulk, automated or abusive messages.

  8. 08Other people’s sites

We link to partners, funders and published papers. Those sites are not ours, we do not control them, and a link is not an endorsement of everything on the other end of it.

  9. 09Availability

We make the site available as it is and as it happens to be. We do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we may change, suspend or withdraw any part of it at any time.

  10. 10Liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss arising from your use of this site or from reliance on anything published on it.

Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

  11. 11Changes

We may update these terms. The version published here, with the date at the top of the page, is the one that applies.

  12. 12Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Cameroon, and the courts of Cameroon have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.

  13. 13Contact

Questions about these terms: info@riverplusbiotech.com, or write to us in Douala, Cameroon.
