Privacy Policy

We collect as little as we can get away with. This page says exactly what that is, in plain terms, because a privacy policy nobody can read is not a privacy policy.

1. 01Who we are

   RiverPlus Biotech is a diagnostics company based in Douala, Cameroon. We are the people responsible for the personal information described in this policy, and we can be reached at info@riverplusbiotech.com.

2. 02What this policy covers

   This policy covers this website and the messages you send us through it.

   It does not cover data collected in our laboratory or field studies. Research and clinical data is handled separately, under the ethics approvals and study protocols that govern each piece of work, and participants are given the relevant information at the point of consent.

3. 03What we collect

   Only two things:

   • What you send us. If you use the contact form, that is your name, email address, organisation, the enquiry type you pick and your message. If you write, call or send a WhatsApp message instead, it is whatever that message contains.
   • Server logs. Our hosting provider records the ordinary technical detail of a web request — IP address, browser and device type, the page requested and the time — for security and reliability.

   This site sets no cookies of its own. It runs no analytics, no advertising and no tracking scripts, and there is no visitor profiling of any kind. Fonts are served from this site rather than from a font provider, so simply loading a page makes no request to a third party.

4. 04Why we hold it

   To read your message and reply to it, and to keep a record of a conversation we are already having with you. Server logs exist to keep the site up and to investigate abuse.

   We do not sell personal information, we do not share it for anyone else’s marketing, and we do not add you to a mailing list because you contacted us.

5. 05Who else processes it

   Three services, each doing one job:

   • FormSubmit (formsubmit.co) delivers the contact form. Submissions pass through its servers on the way to info@riverplusbiotech.com.
   • Our hosting provider serves the site and keeps the server logs described above.
   • Our email provider stores the correspondence itself, exactly as it would any other email.

   These providers operate outside Cameroon, so your message may be stored or processed in another country. We use them because they are the ordinary tools for the job, not because we want your data anywhere in particular.

6. 06How long we keep it

   Correspondence is kept for as long as the conversation is live and for a reasonable period afterwards, so that we can pick it up again if you come back to us. Server logs are kept for the short retention period our host applies.

   If you would rather we did not keep your message at all, say so and we will delete it.

7. 07Your rights

   You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or object to us holding it at all. Write to us and we will act on it — there is no form and no process to work through.

8. 08Children

   This site is aimed at health programmes, partners, funders and press. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information about them through it.

9. 09Changes

   If this policy changes we will update it here and change the date at the top of the page. Material changes will be described rather than slipped in.
